Stœchiophonie numbering rules

Now that you’ve had a gist of the most useful numbers, let’s move to the writing rules for the tens, the compound numbers, and why not the hundreds, the thousands and beyond (if possible).

  • Digits from one to nine are rendered by specific words, namely on [1], dov [2], tir [3], tur [4], san [5], sas [6], sap [7], tan [8], and van [9].
  • Tens are formed starting with the multiplier digit, suffixed with at, except for ten: gan [10], dovat [20], tirat [30], turat [40], sanat [50], sasat [60], sapat [70], tanat [80], and vanat [90].
  • Compound numbers seem to be formed starting with the ten, followed by the unit (e.g.: dovat tan [28], sanat sas [56]).
  • The word for hundred is ganat [100], or litterally ten times ten.
  • The word for thousand is ganan [1,000].
  • The word for million is ganin [1 million].
