Language overview

Shyriiwook (literally tongue of the tree people), also known as Wookieespeak, is a fictional language that belongs to the Star Wars universe. This is the main trade language of the Wookiees, who also speak Xaczik (on the Wartaki Islands and in other coastal regions) and Thykarann, a dialect of Shyriiwook with a rich technical lexicon, spoken on the planet Kashyyyk.

Shyriiwook numbering rules

  • Digits from one to nine are specific words: ah [1], ah-ah [2] (one one), a-oo-ah [3], wyoorg [4], ah wyoorg [5] (one four), hu yourg [6], muwaa yourg [7], ah muwaa yourg [8] (one seven), and a-oo-mu [9].
  • The only documented ten is aohwawh [10].
